Installation

In the box you will find:
1 Sailserver
1 GSM Antenna for Mobile network
1 Green connector for NMEA183 and SeaTalk 1 (Plugged into Sailserver)
1 NMEA2000 cable

Please make a note or take a picture of the Sailserver Id, found on the back of the Sailserver. The Id is needed to link the Sailserver to a boat.

Sailserver can be connected to modern instruments with NMEA 2000, or classic instruments with NMEA 0183 or SeaTalk interface.

Status LED
The LED on the front of the Saiserver will help you during installation, and indicate if it is connected to the boat instruments and the Internet.

GREEN light, means valid GPS data received.
RED light, means no GPS data received.
BLUE light, temporarily in special mode or Bluetooth pairing

2 flashes, Temporarily No Internet
3 flashes, Starting up, No Internet, Action needed
4 flashes, Faulty Sailserver

NMEA 2000 is a system used for sharing data between different instruments. NMEA 2000 is based on a single cable called backbone. Each instrument is connected to the backbone with a NMEA 2000 cable also called a drop cable. The backbone is connected to 12V, so the instruments can also get its power through the NMEA 2000 cable.
SeaTalk NG and SimNet are also NMEA2000 networks but with different types of connectors.

For installations without a NMEA 2000 network, the Sailserver has to be powered through the NMEA 2000 connector.
A NMEA 2000 cable can be used for that.

Sailserver has a mobile network modem build in.

It will require a SIM card for a mobile network.

All Sailservers comes with a prepaid SIM card that gives access to the Internet for more than 10 years. 

The data usage is about 20MB / month if the Sailserver is switched on 24/7.

Power off the Sailserver before inserting the SIM card.

The SIM card may not be pin locked.

Sailserver can also be connected with an ethernet cable to an onboard Internet router.

LED will show status if it is connected to the Internet.

1 fashs, Connected to the Internet.

2 flashes, Temporarily No Internet, Registed to the mobile network, but no Internet access at the moment. It might be bad coverage.

3 flashes,ng up, No Internet, Action needed, SIM card was found, but it is pin locked or not able to register to the mobile network.

4 flashes, Faulty Sailserver

On the Login page you will find a Signup button. Please type your full name and email, and follow the instructions on the screen.

After you have logged in, it is time to link your Sailserver to your boat. For that you will need the Sailserver Id found on the back of the Sailserver.

From the menu please go to: Account / Profile / Boat

Please press the button on the Sailserver, and the LED will start to flash blue.

Sailserver will now contact sailserver.com and be ready to link to a boat. It may take up to 1 minute before it is ready.

Press Add boat and follow the instructions on the screen.

It is now time to go sailing.

Each time you finish a sailing trip, it will show up under the menu Track.

Under Dashboard, live data from you board, delayed up to 1 minute.
